A few weeks ago ago I shared a post with tips on making the most out of your tax refund. In it, I talked about ways that I personally stretch those dollars, which included getting a new business phone line through Walmart Family Mobile. I have been using it for everything from checking emails to video chatting about campaigns, and I have to say I am extremely happy that I made the jump! I think the service is an amazing value, and one that I wouldn’t be able to justify had I gone with another provider. Seriously, at just $49.88 per month for Unlimited talk, text, & data and up to 10GB of 4G LTE then 2G it is perfect!

I chose the Samsung Galaxy On5, which was on Rollback for $69 (regular price $119). Other than that, the only thing I had to grab was a SIM kit at $19.88. Since Family Mobile bills you later, you only have to pay $19.88 when you sign up. Want to know what else I love about Walmart Family Mobile? The fact that I can take the money I save each month and put it in a “fun fund” to use for things that we do as a family without having to dip into our savings. That means every month we can do something fun without worrying. Great, right?

Since the plan comes with one free VUDU movie credit a month (a $7 value, same as a new release), I thought we would do our first fun fund activity as a family movie day. I went out and bought a bunch of snacks, supplies, and ingredients for some fun recipes, and the kids helped set things up. The entire thing cost just under $100, and it was super fun! We set things up in the living room to watch on our flat screen, and had a snack table that we used as a buffet.

For the main focus, I wanted it to be mess-free, so I came up with three snack mixes:

  • Rice cereal/vanilla/peanut butter
  • Popcorn/butterscotch/vanilla
  • Popcorn/candy drizzle/sprinkles

I set up a tray full of toppings/add-ins and sprinkles to go along with the snack mixes, and a bucket full of drinks.

Since we have a 3d tv, I ordered some adorable 3d glasses to wear during the movie as well!

We had a great time, and I can’t wait until next month for another fabulous movie day!
