DreamWorks Trolls Gift Ideas + Easy Pinecone Art

December 8, 2016 by Jess MillionMoments

Sponsored post by Mirum. All opinions are my own.

When I was little, going to the movies was a big deal to me. Each time felt like a special occasion, and I loved drinking in the excitement of it all! To this day, I still remember my very first movie experience as an amazing event in my childhood. You already know that we aren’t big on TV here, but going to the movies is something that we love doing as a family! We just took the kids to see the new Dreamworks Trolls movie, and I have to say that by far it has been our favorite yet. If you have Trolls lovers in your house, here are a few great gift ideas, plus a super easy activity for the littles! If you haven’t seen the movie yet, check out the trailer!

Cute, right? I swear the kids were singing all the movie songs for days after we saw it. This movie is perfect for the smaller kids, and I am sure the over 6 crowd would love it as well. It follows Poppy and Branch on an adorable adventure to get back their friends, and along the way there is plenty of singing, dancing, and of course hugging! I don’t want to get into too much detail and spoil the movie if you haven’t seen it, but I will say that it is a colorful, bright and playful ride filled with great music! Now, let’s get on to our gift ideas. These are all available at Walmart, along with many others!

Trolls Hug Time Bracelet

This is a super cute light up bracelet that is just like the Trolls wear in the movie! You press a button and it says “hug time” with flashing lights. Kaia loves it, and totally goes around the house asking for hugs all day long. It would be a great stocking stuffer or anytime gift!

Trolls Microphone

Kaia loves singing and dancing, and this sparkly microphone is perfect for her favorite activity! It has a few songs already loaded on it, but we can also plug it in to a smart phone and it will amplify her voice. She can sing her heart out, and anything sparkly is definitely going to catch her eye!

Dreamworks Trolls Inspired Pinecone Art

This is super simple, but it is a great way to spend a few hours with the kids. When I was little, I loved making things with pinecones. For this, all you have to have is a bag full of pinecones (I had the kids pick them from our yard – great exercise, and they enjoyed it!), some paint, a drop paper that can get dirty, and glitter. The shape of the pinecone is similar in shape to the troll hair, and the kids loved making them!

We chose colors that represented each of the different characters – pink for Poppy, blues for Branch, and even greens for Prince Gristle. To make these, you can either paint a puddle on your drop paper and roll the pinecone in it, or take a foam brush and paint the pinecone itself. You can do it all one color if you would like, but we added dimension by mixing them!

Toss some glitter on them before they dry, and voila – super cute troll hair pinecones!
