Fun Fashion for Girls: Kidpik

October 5, 2016 by Jess MillionMoments

Kaia is in love with fashion. I have no idea where she gets it, as I have never been into keeping up with trends myself, but she is a all about styling. She is a genius at putting together adorable outfits, and I will admit that she makes style choices for herself that are so much cooler than my own. Basically, the girl can dress. She has been picking out her everyday clothes for just over a year now, and I love watching her choose and style outfits. It isn’t really my thing, but it is hers, so I love it.

This year is her first at school, so over the summer I knew I needed to stock her wardrobe. I wanted to step up from her regular leggings and t-shirts to presentable school outfits, but since I’m not that great at fashion, I needed a little help. That is when I discovered Kidpik, who sent over a complementary box for us to check out.

Kidpik is a clothing box service for girls size 4-14. It comes monthly, bi-monthly, or seasonally, and each box contains 7 pieces of clothing, shoes, and/or accessories. It is crazy cute as you can see, and although I was apprehensive at first about someone choosing clothes for Kaia, I knew my worries were unfounded as soon as we opened the box. Each outfit is amazing, and Kaia fell in love with each piece she pulled out! They are perfect for this new school year, and are both age and seasonally appropriate.

For the most part we can mix & match all of the pieces, and the box had a great variety of unique, on-trend items. Kaia’s box contained a shirt, a skirt, a dress, a jumpsuit, a belt, a bracelet, and the most adorable pink sparkle ankle boots I’ve ever seen. Seriously, why don’t they make them in my size? Kaia’s favorite outfit was of course the gold skirt combo above, but I fell in love with the jumpsuit (and I’m not usually a fan of jumpsuits.)

Kaia is a size 4-5, so she falls on the smaller end of the scale, but everything ended up fitting her perfectly – even the booties! One thing that really struck me about Kidpik is that they use their own designs. These clothes aren’t something you can pick up at the local mall – they are 100% designed by Kidpik for their own customers. I love that!

How does Kidpik work? First, you sign up for an account and fill out your style profile. It is a series of visual questions to gauge your preferred style and based on what Kaia received, it turned out to be very accurate to what we like. You can also specify if you do or don’t want certain types of items (jewelry, shoes, no short skirts, etc) and you can update your style profile any time you want. After that, you select the frequency of your box, enter your information, and wait for the first box to show up! Once it comes, try everything on and keep what you like. Anything you don’t like gets sent back in a prepaid envelope included in your box. You will only pay for items you keep, but you do get a 30% discount on the total if you keep the entire box. Kaia loved everything from her box so much that we didn’t send anything back, and I can’t wait to see and share what comes next from this fabulous company! Until then, here are some random shots of Kaia hamming it up for the camera in her new outfits. This girl loves to pose.
