I’m sharing our cute swimwear looks from Target Baby as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars #TargetCrowd
Being a kid in the Summer time is the best, isn’t it? There is no school, the sun is shining, and every day is a new adventure. For us, warm weather means one thing: water time! We pretty much live outdoors unless it’s freezing, and the kids spend a ton of time getting wet either in the blow up pool, at the grandparents, or having some old fashioned water gun fun. Besides that, we have beach trips, river trips, kayaking, lake adventures and more. Needless to say swimwear is our family’s Summer uniform. These kids have been growing like weeds, and since their suits from last year don’t fit I am having to start fresh. You know how much I adore children’s fashion, and swimwear is no exception, so I got more than a little giddy at the thought of new water wear this year. I already adore Target, so it is no surprise that I found the cutest suits for incredible prices there – I’m talking under $15 each. Seriously?? I let them pick out a few, along with towels and other water play must haves and after just one trip they are set for a season of fun in the sun!
Kaia immediately fell in love with this purple ruffle suit from the baby section- she is a girly girl so anything frilly makes her happy. Besides the suit, we also picked up a My Little Pony pool towel and this adorable floppy sun hat for only $7. Since Judah is still in school for another month, Kaia and I have been going on girl’s days to get in some one on one time before it isn’t just the two of us all day anymore. With it being so warm we are finally able to go to my parents house and hang out in their pool, and I am loving having lazy afternoons with her like this! She was super excited to finally be able to test out her new suit, and I just loved being there with her.
The pool was a little too cold to swim in on this day, but we still had a blast lounging beside it, and since I happened to bring my camera we had a little shoot and I got some amazing pictures! Being a photographer, I feel like I always have to have my camera with me, but I rarely do on days like this so I will really treasure these shots from our afternoon together. One of my favorite ways to photograph people is to just stand back and let them do their thing. No posing, just freezing little moments as they happen which is what I did here. I can’t believe how big she is getting. Seriously, where did my baby go?
Goodness, I just love those photos. And how cute is that little ruffle?! Another of our favorite things to do is hang out in our own back yard. We have picnics, we tend to the garden, and she loves to go in her little wading pool. Sometimes we just sit together in the grass and I love every second of it. Speaking of love, how adorable is this pink floral suit from Target. And with matching sunglasses too? I’m dying of cuteness!
If a one piece isn’t your thing, there’s always a tankini. I have mixed feelings about two pieces for little girls – I am not a fan of the bikinis or ones that show her belly, so I was super happy to see that Target had such a big selection of tankinis. As a mom it makes me feel a lot better having her belly covered up, even in our own yard.
I also let Judah pick out some suits, but he is pretty particular so the only one he wanted was this red pair. This kid is serious about some red. It’s his favorite color, and anything and everything he gets MUST be red.
He is at the age where he is learning to swim unassisted, and he is all about being a little daredevil. Great for him but scary for mama! Since he isn’t too good at holding his nose, I also picked up a pair of snorkle goggles for him to practice with. He also got a new towel and a few other essentials too, and he is ready to dive in like a fish.
I can’t believe how fast my kids are growing up before my eyes. This Summer will bring tons of new adventures, and I’m looking forward to experiencing all kinds of new things as a family. And thanks to Target, we are all set to do it in style!
