Little Girls, Growing Up and Shampoo

April 28, 2015 by Jess MillionMoments

I used JOHNSON’S® Baby Shampoo to care for my little one as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars #johnsonspartners #SoMuchMore

When I first found out that Kaia was going to be a girl, a few things started flashing through my mind. I got super excited about the thought of having “girl time” with my daughter on the regular, and even though I have never been a girly girl, my heart jumped a little at the thought of pink tutus and sparkles. I know, my tomboy self is cringing right now, but you know what? Even the most ungirly of girls has to get excited about a little sparkle now and then! So now that she is two and in full on toddler mode she has started to really show the most adorable personality. She dances, she sings, she has the cutest little laugh and she loves to dress herself in tutus and ruffles. She is loving life and thriving in it which I never got to see with Judah because he has always been the standoffish type.

Anyway, so what does this have to do with shampoo? Well, the other day I was washing Kaia’s hair when I noticed how long it was getting. First I admired how pretty it was, but then another thought set in – I realized that me being so anti-girly means I am not prepared for being up to the task of styling my very girly girl. Seriously, I don’t style my hair. I wash and go, maybe spritzing on a little oil but that’s it. I don’t do updos, I very rarely braid and I don’t ever spend more than a few minutes on styling my hair. But Kaia? She is forever requesting new hairstyles. Sure, they are cute, but I fail at toddler hair. The best I can do is a couple of braids.

I also have to wash it just about every single day. I go a few days between washing my own, but busy toddlers tend to get messy so every night is bath time around here. We use JOHNSON’S baby shampoo because it is super gentle on her hair without weighing it down, and its unique NO MORE TEARS formula keeps her eyes happy too!

She loves getting her hair washed, and bath time for us has become a great bonding time for us. She makes silly bubble styles on top of her head, and she loves to sing in the tub too! I love our bath times together, and for a bit it is just me and her away from everything.

After bath time we brush and style her hair, and luckily it dries quickly. Since Johnson’s baby shampoo is a complete formula I don’t have to condition or use product with it so I can brush it and go. Next, it’s time to get dressed and she sets off for another day of amazing me with how grown up she is!
