I used baby products by JOHNSON’S® to care for my little one as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars #johnsonspartners
Remember last month when I showed you how to make bath paints out of JOHNSON’S® Baby Head To Toe Baby Wash? Well I’m back with yet another ridiculously easy craft that uses that same hypoallergenic and super gentle formula in a fun new way! If you have kids of your own I’m sure you have heard of cloud dough. If not, then you are in for a treat! It’s a great sensory activity for kids that is soft yet sturdy at the same time (think Kinetic Sand that doesn’t clean out your wallet) and is super easy to make at home. It usually calls for vegetable oil, but I thought it would be a much better idea to substitute it for something that is not only made for children’s skin, but actually helps keep it moisturized and healthy at the same time! Oh yeah, and with Johnson’s new scent it smells fabulous!
This craft calls for just three ingredients and will take you maybe five minutes to mix up. I’d say that makes the effort to fun ratio a landslide so next time you’re out to restock go ahead and pick up a few extra bottles of JOHNSON’S® Baby Head To Toe Baby Wash in preparation. I have been making cloud dough the traditional way for a while, but I always hated the way it left a slight film on my kids hands. Since swapping it out for the baby wash I have been amazed at how soft it feels. Not only that, but it seriously softens the skin without leaving it greasy at all!
When you get ready to make it you are going to need:
- 1/3 cup JOHNSON’S® Baby Head To Toe Baby Wash
- 2 cups corn starch
- food coloring
- large mixing bowl and spoon
- zip top sandwich bags for storage
So all you really need to do is combine everything in your bowl and mix thorougly.
You can start off stirring it with a spoon, but I find it mixes better if I just do it with my hands, so continue for a few minutes until you have a soft, sand like texture.
And that’s it! Once it’s ready you will need some kind of contained surface – shallow plastic tubs work well but I emptied out a wooden puzzle box with a sliding top and it worked out perfectly.
The kids loved playing with the new could dough, and I loved how soft their hands felt afterward thanks to the baby wash!
Okay, I know I’ve been raving over how great this is for the skin, but seriously, I am SO happy with JOHNSON’S® new formula. I used to use a more expensive brand, but with the reformulation they have just what a body wash needs and nothing more – plus they they have a Peace of Mind Guarantee. That means that you can try their products for 30 days and if you don’t love it they’ll give you a full refund! So not only do we have happy bath times, but I know if I didn’t like it for some reason I wouldn’t be out any money, and that makes me smile.
