I am sharing my coffee journey as part of a sponsored post on behalf of Collective Bias, Millstone® coffee & Mr. Coffee®. All opinions are my own.
If I could sum up the daily life of a full time blogger in one word, it would be busy. So, so busy. My days are spent experimenting with recipes, thinking up crafts, elbow deep in whatever the food or element of the moment is all while taking pictures of every.single.thing. and then piecing everything together into a (hopefully) coherent blog post. And that is just before noon! The rest of my day is spent cleaning up whatever huge mess I just made, wrangling children, trying to fit in family time, grocery shopping and all other daily tasks before settling into a night of image editing and a mountain of emails. Glamorous, right? Not. I think exhausting and messy are more fitting descriptions. So, do I have some secret weapon that ensures I’m not drooling head down on my keyboard by 6pm? I totally do, and his name isMr. Coffee®.
I am a sucker for a great cup of coffee. Since I get virtually no time to myself and my breaks are few and far between it is pretty much a daily necessity. I was at Walmart a few weeks ago picking up supplies for yet another one of my craft projects when I decided to check out their coffee makers. My current one is a single serve dinosaur, and we all know just ONE cup doesn’t cut it. So I picked up a sweet new Mr. Coffee® 10 cup Optimal Brew™ Thermal drip coffee maker and it is amazing. It does everything – brew coffee, filter water, clean itself, and best of all it does it fast. I love that the carafe is made out of thermal stainless steel so it holds warmth for hours after brewed. Pair that with premium Millstone® coffee and you have a coffee pot full of awesome!
So do you want to see what a typical day in my world looks like? The first thing I do is wake up and have a cup of coffee. Then I walk Judah to school with Kaia on my back in the baby carrier. Hey, I have to fit in exercise somewhere, right? Then most of the time I head to the grocery store and run whatever other errands I need to get done then head home and make another cup of coffee. Then Kaia and I have about an hour of girl time before I have to pick up Judah from school. Next I make the kids lunch and catch up on our neverending mountain of laundry while they eat.
After lunch we have a 30ish minute play time then there’s nap time. Sweet, amazing, glorious nap time. If I’m lucky I get a whole two hours of silence and it.is.amazing. While I would love to spend that time catching up on my favorite shows, I usually have a mountain of work to get done so I grab another cup of coffee and power through it. On any given day my nap times consist of writing, proofreading, editing images, shooting 100-200 clicks for whatever latest campaign I have signed on for, cooking, creating, crafting, and who knows what else. Today I’m making cupcakes with coffee infused buttercream frosting and they are delicious! So while scarfing down batter I shoot every single step I do.
And here is what all that amounts to.
Oh my goodness they were delicious. And I ate every single one of them myself. Want the recipe? Check it out here.
So after everyone wakes up I turn on some TV for the kids while I clean up the mess I just made and then we have fun time. Sometimes we go outside, sometimes we play games or whatever else they want to do and almost always end up with a living room that looks like a tornado plowed through it. Then my husband gets home, we do dinner and then spend time together as a family. With it being warmer we spend much of our time outside and I finally start to relax and wind down. This is my absolute favorite time of the day – having fun with the kids as the sun sets is absolutely magical!
And then it is bedtime for the kids, followed by trying to clean up the day’s messes and a few more hours of work time for me before going to bed around 2am and doing it all over again the next day. So now you have a peek into my life! Was it what you expected?
