My life is pretty messy. Being the mom of two kids under the age of four means that I spend my days armed with paper towels and constantly chasing down messes. Before having kids I was a painter, a bartender and a seamstress. All those things were fairly messy in their own way, but NOTHING I had ever experienced could have prepared me for the trainwreck my house would become when it was full of kids. Oh.my.gosh. How in the world could these tiny humans cause such a monumental mess? Seriously, they’re small but mighty. They can completely overturn my house in a matter of minutes, they can get into and out of anything I “babyproof”, and don’t even get me started on their clothes! Between mealtime messes, outside adventures and all the craft projects we do around here, they can go through 2-3 outfits EACH in a day! These kids just love getting dirty, and it doesn’t take much to ruin an outfit. See Kaia down there? What started as one little drop of paint managed to somehow turn into a whole body mess. Believe me, when it comes to kids, a little goes a long way.
And let’s not forget Judah. I can’t let the kid around anything without him covering himself in it.
Oh yeah, and I’m in a hate hate relationship with laundry. I dread doing it. I would rather do any other chore there is instead of laundry, so when I was asked to check out these new Tide Pods and Gain Flings that look like the pods I use for my dishwasher I jumped at the chance. I mean, any steps I can cut out of my multiple times a day laundry routine the better, right? They are small but pack a big punch with detergent, brightener and stain lifter all in one. And one little pod takes care of an entire load of laundry!
They are pretty cool, just reach in the bag and pop one in on top of your laundry load. No measuring, no wiping sticky laundry liquid, just easy peasy. And you know what? The purple ones smell AMAZING! *FYI – keep these out of reach of your littles. I know it might be tempting to let them do their own laundry, but you know what happens when they see little packages of fun colors – they go straight in their mouths. Yuck!*
It isn’t a huge change, but with these new pods I can cut out at least a minute of laundry time, which is A-ok in my book! So now I can breathe a little easier when my kids get covered from head to toe in who-knows-what because my laundry routine just got a little happier!
