Baby Basics: Babywearing with Hotslings (Review & Giveaway)

Babywearing is amazing.  It has countless benefits for both mom (or dad!) and baby.  It promotes physical and emotional closeness, helps babies feel safe and provides a soothing environment that reminds them of the womb.  The constant motion and physical closeness helps to calm fussy or overstimulated babies and allows them fall asleep easily.  It also frees up your hands so you can go about your daily activities.  Having a toddler and a newborn certainly makes my hands full most of the time, and being able to wear one of them helps out a lot.

There is such a huge market for baby carriers that sometimes it’s hard to weed through the options and choose the right one for you.  The answer really all boils down to how you want it to fit and what you need it for.  I have a number of carriers that I love, a few I use for hiking and outdoor activities, one for my older child and another for the newborn stage.  I’ve got a carrier for almost every occasion, but I didn’t have one that I could just grab and go without having to go through any steps.  The Hotslings AP adjustable sling is great for quick trips and folds up so small it can fit almost anywhere!  With it all I have to do is throw it over my shoulder and put her in the pouch.  No messing with buckles, ties or wrapping.

The Hotslings AP is extremely lightweight but sturdy enough to hold up to 35 pounds.  It is made from 97%cotton and 3% spandex and is machine washable.  With two adjustable sizes finding the right fit is simple, just pull the straps and you’re done!

This carrier is very comfortable and Kaia loves it.  There are a few different carrying positions but our favorite right now is the front carry.  It allows her to face outward and see what’s going on but is also a safe position to sleep in.  She loves sleeping in it and I can usually transition her to her bed easily if I need to.

I’m very pleased with this carrier and have already gotten lots of use out of it!  I love my other carriers, but for ease of use and compactness it can’t be beat.  I love how quickly I can put it on and go.  I wouldn’t recommend it for more than an hour or two, but that’s really all I ever need it for anyway.
