I love fresh fruit, especially when it’s warm outside. In spring and summer I usually opt for foods with just a few ingredients that are quick and easy to make so I can spend most of my time outdoors. I also love desserts, and springtime is perfect for whipping up tasty fruit inspired creations. There’s nothing better than enjoying a light, colorful, tasty snack on the porch or having a picnic in the back yard! With COOL WHIP whipped topping and some fresh fruit, I can make a delicious summer treat that my family will absolutely love. The best part? I don’t even have to heat up the oven!
Here’s one of my favorite quick desserts made with COOL WHIP. I call it a fruit bowl but you might know it as something different. It’s really fun to make, and you can even let your kids help out! There are many variations to this, so if you don’t like the fruit I chose it can be just as tasty swapping it out for your own favorite. The ingredients are simple and there’s not much prep work, and it takes less than 30 minutes.
Have fun with it! You can make it look fancy or crazy if you want, there are tons of possibilities. You can have alternating layers of fruit and COOL WHIP, or just put a dollop on top. There’s no ideal amount so use as much or as little as you’d like. I like mine simple, but you could even add some strawberry syrup on top. Below is the finished product. My husband and I had a little contest to see who could make theirs look the best…I don’t know who won but I think they both look amazing! Little J is a bit too young to participate, but he sure did help eat it!
I hope you enjoy! These are great for company and are also easy for your kids to make. The one ingredient that really ties this whole recipe together is the COOL WHIP. It’s such a versatile classic, I mean who doesn’t love it? A few other fruit combinations that I can think of are peaches with blueberries, pears with raspberries, or strawberries with kiwi. Like I said earlier, the possibilities are endless!
