Made with Love Giveaway Hop

November 8, 2011 by Jess MillionMoments

Welcome to the Made With Love Event hosted by The Reynolds Mom and Seventeen Sirens! I’m very excited to be a part of this, as I am truly passionate about all things handmade.  Each of the participating blogs feature a giveaway for at least $25 worth of handmade items (most are more). Be sure to go through the linky below and enter for your chance to win, there are so many truly great things to be won! This event will close on November 13th at Midnight EST. Good Luck!

For My giveaway, I will be offering TWO Patchwork stockings of your choice from my Etsy shop.  This is a value of $36-$45 depending on if you choose ready made or custom.  If you choose a custom stocking, I have a list of available fabrics.  You can choose up to 3 fabrics for the outer and 1 for the inner.  Already made stockings are subject to availability.  I will also add a new stocking to my shop for EACH DAY of the event!!

Since these are my own creations, instead of a review I will just tell you a little about them and my process.  Although I make tons more than just stockings, that is all I’ll be talking about in this post.  Each stocking is made from high quality cotton.  For the front and back, I start with a single panel of cotton and attach fusible interfacing for sturdiness, then I do the “patchwork” element on top of that.  Then I sew the lining together, attach it to the outsides, add a strap, and finish it off.  It takes me about a day to make an entire stocking, but usually I split it up over a few days.  All seams are reinforced and serged so they hold up really well year after year.

The best part of the whole process is picking out colors and fabrics.  There are definitely some I like more than others, but I always take a lot of time and work really hard trying to find the perfect combos and arrangements.  Another thing I really enjoy is custom orders.  I love making other people’s vision come to life, and I like to think I make it easy for them to design what they want.  I usually have a pretty large selection of fabrics, and if you want something I don’t have I try to find it.  Below are some pictures of a few recent custom orders I’ve done.

I hope this will give you a better idea of what my business is about and how I make my art.

Buy it: Stop by my Etsy shop (Homespun Nation) and order today!  *Also: I’m offering a 10% coupon for all Custom stocking orders until November 15th.  Use code MADEWITHLOVE.
