Sundae Soiree

My birthday is coming up soon, and each year I love to think up fun new ways to celebrate. I’m not talking about full on parties, just small things to do that help make the day special. I love themed events, and last year I had a craft day for my birthday which was super fun, but this year I’ve really been in the mood for something sweet, frosty and refreshing. So, I came up with a fabulous idea: a Sundae Soiree!

I’m a little bit obsessed with frozen treats. I would eat them every day if I could, but too much of something is never a good idea so I keep it to special occasions and once-in-a-while cravings. We’ve been a milk free household for a while now, but one thing I hadn’t yet discovered is the world of dairy free frozen treats until a few months ago. When I finally did I was in shock – what had I been missing all these years?! The first time I saw So Delicious Dairy Free® Frozen Treats I honestly didn’t have high hopes – I mean, come on, really? But from that first taste I knew I had found a new favorite. It’s just so delicious, and I know that’s a little weird given the name, but it totally is.

My favorite flavors are the Coconut Milk Vanilla Bean, and the Cashew Milk Dark Chocolate Truffle. Since the bases are coconut and cashew milk for each one, that adds a whole other flavor element to the frozen dessert that totally puts it over the top. They’re just so creamy and oh-my-goodness THAT good! I also love that it is Certified Vegan, dairy/egg free, and 100% plant based. I didn’t know this but the company itself has been around for 25 years, so I’d say they know their stuff! But back to my party story. Where was I? Oh yeah, I decided to have a Sundae party. So the first thing I did was head to Walmart and gather supplies for my test run (because why not, right?) and then headed home to set up.

Any great sundae bar needs toppings, and I made sure to have plenty of them! Since I didn’t want to get *too* decadent, I included a mix of sweets and fruit: chocolate, caramel, coconut, mixed berries, pineapple, sprinkles, cherries, and a few other odds and ends.

And of course the star of the show – the So Delicious Dairy Free® frozen treats!

Once everything was set up, we dug in and made our sundaes. It was really fun seeing what each of us preferred, and I love that they were all different!

Yum! Want to know why my personal sundae is? Here’s a hint: it’s tropical! Here’s the quick recipe:

  • Take a bowl of So Delicious Dairy Free® Coconut Milk Vanilla Bean frozen dessert.
  • Top it with a sprinkle of coconut, a drizzle of caramel, some crushed up graham crackers, plenty of pineapple and a few candy pearls.
  • Voila – a tropical delight!

You can find So Delicious® Dairy Free and everything else needed to create this sundae bar at your local Walmart.
