Game Day Party Ideas

January 27, 2014 by Jess MillionMoments

I have a confession – I’m not really a big football fan.  Crazy, I know.  But I love the festivities and excitement around game day celebrations, and you know I jump at any chance to create things so I thought it would be fitting to debut my brand new big screen with an adorable and easy gal pal football party!  I invited a few of my closest (football loving) girlfriends over and we spent the afternoon eating fabulous food and watching the game on the best electronic device ever.  Read on for a recap, some great party tips and AMAZING game day food sure to be a hit at your next celebration!

I wanted to keep my party menu simple and delicious so I focused on great flavor with minimal effort.  Yes, I said *minimal* effort.  I whipped up a whole tray of mini gourmet ciabatta sandwiches featuring fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil and a dash of pepper in less than 15 minutes.  They were so delicious they seriously flew off the tray.

I wanted to add fruit to my spread, but I needed to make them festive so I dipped some strawberries in chocolate, let it harden and drew football laces on them with some microwaveable candy coating.  Yum!

Probably the most adorable item on the menu were these cupcakes that looked like little cheeseburgers.  Talk about awesome!!  Not only were they delicious, but they were really easy to make too.

You can find the recipe here, but you basically make a bunch of miniature cupcakes by dropping tiny spoonfuls of batter into a cupcake pan, stacking them together and squirting icing in between.  Seriously, they are SO awesome!

Besides that I set out a bucket of root beer and cream soda, chips, salsa, guacamole, and some cute plastic whistles as novelty party favors.  We had a total blast munching on great food and having an all girls day.  That’s right, NO boys allowed!

The food was amazing, but it paled in comparison to my fabulous new TV from Best Buy.  I mean, this thing is 50 inches of high definition magic that made the entire viewing experience out of this world!

So now that you’re just bursting with ideas for your next party, have fun and happy creating!
