BeFit And Banish That Belly

September 12, 2013 by Jess MillionMoments

I will be the first to admit that having children has left my body a little soft.  Okay, a lot soft.  Three years ago I was in the best shape of my life – daily yoga, hikes up the mountain, perfect diet.  Fitness was important to me and I loved working out.  But then I got pregnant and all that changed.  Now, instead of spending my days being active I spend them snacking and being lazy.  Those mile long hikes that I loved so much?  Ha.  I can’t even walk my kid a few blocks to school without getting winded and I have decided that enough is enough.

Having two littles running around the house makes it hard for me to get anything done for myself, and personal fitness is no exception.  Sure, I’ve got great arms from constantly picking them up, but that and chasing them around the house is the extent of my physical activity.  I have wanted to get back in shape ever since Kaia was born last year, but fitness videos are expensive and with SO many out there to choose from how in the world can I even decide?  It wasn’t until I discovered the BeFit channel on Youtube that I finally took the plunge.  The best part?  It is totally FREE!  Just think of it as your own personal fitness library ready for you whenever you need it.  Now I’m ready to get off my butt and start busting a move!  Are you right there with me?  Grab your laptop, iphone or any other Youtube enabled device and let’s get pumping!

Since Yoga has always been my workout method of choice I decided to star there.  I wanted something that the kids could get involved in without being too boring (lets face it, some Yoga videos are really dull) so I chose Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown.  Judah really got into it and before I knew it he was doing all the poses right along with me!  Check out my little Yogi in action.

Adorable, huh?  Not only is Yoga great for his physical well being, it is also helps him learn to focus and be calm when things around him get crazy.  I am hoping that this is something we can all do as a family once Kaia gets a little older, but for now she is acting as my little motivator.

While I love working out with the kids, I also need to do something a little more intense so I have started following their 30 Minute Total Body Workout  and it is definitely making me sweat!  I love how convenient it is to have a huge library of great workout videos at my fingertips for free anytime I want, and what’s more is that I can watch it on my iPhone or tablet if I want to go outside or to the park.

I am excited about my new fitness journey, and I know that it will take time to get the hang of it again but with a great library and cute workout partners I don’t see how I can go wrong!
