It’s hard to believe the time has come, but Judah is finally in school! I am so proud of my little guy and couldn’t be happier that he gets to spend time with kids his age, build friendships and learn new things in the process. I’ve spent the past few weeks preparing, shopping and gathering everything we needed to send him off and even though I wrote earlier about our preschool preparation back in April, I thought now would be a great time for an update. He has never been to school before, so this really is a new adventure for us this year and I can’t wait to see how much he grows from it!
When it comes to back-to-school shopping we all know what’s important. Clothes, right? (Not really, but who doesn’t want to look spiffy on their first day?) Money is a bit tight for us but I wanted to give Judah a nice school wardrobe this year so I shopped sales, bought with discount codes and got everything a little at a time.
Since I didn’t want to take the chance on losing any of his new clothes, I needed to put his name on everything somehow. Kiddo Tags recently sent me a set of washable clothing labels to check out that worked perfectly AND saved them from being wrecked by permanent marker. Awesome! If you have anything that needs labeling check them out, they have labels for pretty much anything you can think of and much more!
Besides clothes we also let Judah pick out a backpack. Being the cool kid that he is, he chose Super Mario. Once I stopped geeking out over his awesome taste we got him a matching lunchbox since I’ll be packing him food.
On the first day of school, I grabbed a few of our Kiddo Tags playdate cards to share with other parents so we could get to know each other. They all thought they were so cute! I really like these because not only do they have our contact information on the front, there is a space on the back to write anything I need – dietary restrictions, important numbers, favorite foods and more!
The first day was a huge success and I am so proud of my little man! I took tons of pictures and here is one of my favorites. Isn’t he a little heart breaker?
