Sunday In The Park

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you all had a great weekend, I know we did!  You might have been wondering where I’ve been all week, I promise I didn’t forget about you.  I have been working on a super secret project that I will be unveiling in a few months, so keep a look out!  I have also been doing some behind the scenes tech work for the blog, AND I made myself a new watermark!  Like it?  I have some great things lined up for A Million Moments over the next few months, and I’m really excited about them!  There are a few great giveaways, tons of recipes, one SUPER cool craft and more.  Until then, I thought I’d share our awesome weekend adventure in the park!

I am in love with this picture.  I look at it and see my baby who is now a little boy.  I see an awesome moment between father and son and the amazing future that Judah has in store for him.

It has been super cold lately but this weekend was a sunny 70 degrees!  I can feel Spring right around the corner, but it isn’t here yet so a day like this is rare.  We decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and walk to a park near our house.  I took my camera on a whim so I could practice shooting in direct sunlight (every photographer’s worst time to shoot) and really see what my new lens could do.  I have been shooting with a 50mm f1.8 for a while now, but I just upgraded it to the 50mm f1.4 and I am in love!  I was feeling limited with my old lens, but this is my new baby!  I ended up getting some pretty amazing pictures.  Judah had an awesome time, he had never been to this park before so he was all about exploring it.  We were lucky and got the playground to ourselves (Judah has a hard time with other kids, he just doesn’t know how to play with them.)

fun things to do with kids

After a nice picnic lunch we let Judah explore.  He is a fiercely independent little dude so my husband and I sat back while he did his thing.  He got stuck on the wood chips covering the ground a few times but we were able to steer him away pretty easily.  I don’t know what it is about small objects like that but he is a little obsessed.  (This kid single handedly rid our yard of acorns this fall because all he did outside was walk around collecting them!)  He ended up having a great time, especially on the slides.  I spent most of the time trying to capture his day in photos, and I loved seeing him go crazy.

Shooting kids outdoors

I cannot wait for warmer days and more fun in the sun!  Until then, I will leave you with a few more cute photos. My very favorite one is at the end!

  7. That last picture on the right is so fabulous. I would love for the weather to get up to 70. We had a tease a couple weeks ago where things got a little warmer and now they’re back down to snowy and 30′s. Blech. I’m so ready for spring.
