Kaia’s nursery is done! I’m really happy with it and I am SO glad that she finally has a nice little space of her own. She didn’t have a room in our old house so when we moved here a few months ago I got to start from scratch. I have been planning, pinning and designing this room in my head for over a year and it’s FINALLY here! I had a clear idea of what I wanted for a while, and as the room came together it seemed like everything was falling into place until it was time to choose the bedding. I saved that for last because I wanted to make sure it matched the room as a whole, but also because no matter how hard I looked I never found something that made me stop and go “that’s it!”
I knew that I wanted it to look clean, not too cutesy and be unique. And no princess stuff. Or cupcakes. I HATE that. After a long time searching and going through hundreds of patterns and bedding sets I finally found THE one. It’s so beautiful! When I saw it I immediately knew and it comes from an Etsy shop called Tigers Ties.
I have worked with Mikenzie at Tigers Ties before, but that was before her shop grew into what it is today. She still offers cute ties and tutus, but custom sheets are where she really shines! She offers fitted crib sheets, crib skirts, changing pad covers, bumpers, pillow cases, and an awesome new hybrid sheet for crib mattresses.
A good set of crib sheets (to me) is what really ties a nursery together. You can have a great theme and beautifully decorated walls, but if the crib set ls lacking it can totally ruin the room! Kaia’s new sheets are amazing, they match the feel of the room and the tree, and they don’t overpower anything. Lets take a closer look.
I chose an adorable Robert Kaufman pattern for the fitted sheet. Isn’t it cute? I absolutely love the colors! It really complements the room well and it is also something that will be appropriate when Kaia is a toddler.
The texture of the fabric feels rich, smooth and soft. The sheet itself fits her standard sized crib mattress really well, the stitching feels strong and the elastic is durable. I’ve run it through the wash a few times already and it still retains the fit and color that it arrived as.
I was also sent a fitted and hybrid sheet set for Judah’s bed, and wow, it’s just as amazing! I picked a green robot pattern for the hybrid and also got a cool gray fitted sheet to match. Judah loves robots, and he absolutely loves his new sheets!
The hybrid sheet is truly unique. It eliminates the need to keep tucking your child’s top sheet in because it’s fitted on on end and flat on the other (genius for toddlers!)
