Lil helper is one of my all time favorite cloth diaper brands. They have every quality I look for in a diaper and then some. From high quality materials and excellent absorption to a great fit and amazing softness, they easily have a spot on my top three. But the one thing that gives them the biggest edge over all my other faves? Their amazing generosity and enthusiasm towards helping others and the environment.
You know how much I love a company that gets behind a good cause, and Lil Helper is doing just that. For every three diapers they sell, no matter where they’re sold, they donate a diaper to a family in need. If you buy six of their diapers they will give two. There is no limit. That’s hundreds of diapers each month going to babies in need! They also allow their customers to purchase diapers to include in their monthly donations for prices below wholesale. Awesome, right? You can find out all about their Baby Do Good program here.
Lil Helper offers a variety of options to fit your needs. All of their diapers are All-In-Two’s and fit from 7-35 pounds. Weeding through brands and types can get a bit overwhelming when trying to decide what diaper to go with, so I’ll walk you through all Lil Helper has to offer below.
One Size Charcoal Bamboo
Charcoal bamboo is known for its amazing absorption and odor reducing abilities. Charcoal is also a natural ammonia neutralizer so you won’t get the stinkies with these!
The one size charcoal bamboo diaper has an organic cotton/bamboo outer with a hidden layer of PUL for waterproofing. The outside of this diaper feels cottony soft just like a t-shirt! This is easily my favorite diaper ever. The inside lining is 100% organic charcoal bamboo and comes with two snap in soakers. Use them alone or snap together for extra absorption.
One Size Original PUL
The One Size Original diaper has an outer shell of PUL on top of 100% polyester microfleece. The inside of this diaper is so soft and I love the fit I can get! It comes with two 100% unbleached cotton snap in soakers that can be used alone or together. This diaper is a great option if you want the Lil Helper quality but don’t want to spend a lot of money. They also offer an Organic Bamboo diaper.
Liners
I’m usually a pocket girl, but I love the construction of Lil Helper diapers. Normally all-in-two diapers come with thin soakers that slightly resemble maxi pads. And worst of all, they don’t hold in much wetness! Lil Helper’s snap in soakers are amazing. They come in pairs of two – one large and one small. The large inserts can be used alone for older babies or paired with the small for heavy wetters or overnight. The small inserts are great for babies 6 months and younger. I use one small soaker with Kaia and have no problems.
They offer three different types of soakers to fit your needs – Unbleached Cotton, Charcoal Bamboo, and Organic Bamboo. Each insert is made of 4 layers of super absorbent material and are amazingly thin for how much they can hold. I love a fluffy booty, but I don’t want it to be too fluffy, and these are just right! Each diaper comes with its own set of soakers, but they can all be used interchangably in any Lil Helper diaper. They are all fantastic at holding in wetness, and I love that they are all made of natural fibers so that I don’t have to worry about what touches my baby’s skin.
Extra Goodies
Lil Helper also offers wet bags, bamboo crib mats and the softest bamboo wipes I’ve ever felt. Don’t know what to get? Try their Starter Kit for $65! It comes with a bamboo charcoal diaper,an original pul diaper, one set of unbleached cotton liners, one set of bamboo charcoal liners, one zippered wet bag and a set of bamboo wipes.

I have not tried them yet, but am hoping to at some point. The things that appeal to me are the Charcoal Bamboo- less/no urine stink? yes please!-, the two snap in soakers made from Natural Fibers, and their generosity as a company! As someone who struggles to make ends meet, I can greatly appreciate programs such as theirs! I only wish I lived in the area to benefit from it…
