Party Planning

July 25, 2012 by Jess MillionMoments

Guess who’s turning two in a few weeks?  My baby boy!  I can’t believe how fast he is growing up.  It seems like yesterday he was taking his first wobbly steps, and now he’s running and jumping and doing all the things little boys do.  I’m really excited about his party, and my husband and I have decided on a Curious George theme.  I don’t know what drew him to that character, but he is obsessed with George.  He has a tiny monkey figurine he carries around  all day named George, and most of the time he even sleeps with it.  The kid can’t even see a picture of a monkey without screaming “GEEOORGE!!”  It’s pretty cute.

I think the reason I’m more excited about his party this year than last year is that now he can really actively participate and hopefully feel special.  For the past month and a half all the attention has been on Kaia, and I know he’s feeling jealous or left out.  It will be great to have a day all about him.

I’ve been searching Pinterest for inspiration, and have SO many great ideas so far!  Check out my Bday board, isn’t it awesome?  For the party we will have red/brown/yellow/blue streamers, some George Mylar balloons and a George cake.  I’m also thinking about ordering a tablecloth and party hats from Party City.  We’re having it at the park in a picnic shelter, so there’s not too much decorating we can do, but that’s okay.  I don’t think Judah will really even notice because he’ll be having too much fun!
I’ll be taking tons of pics to show you all how it turned out.

If you have children did you do character parties?  What was your favorite birthday as a kid?
