Pregnancy Update: 28 weeks

March 29, 2012 by Jess MillionMoments

28 weeks pregnant

This week I’m taking a break from the normal belly shot to bring you one of my fancy maternity photos!  I did them all by myself, and I must say I’m pretty pleased.  At this point in my pregnancy I’m feeling really good.  Besides not being able to bend over and having trouble keeping up with Little J, I’m okay.  My belly is huge!  I haven’t gained much weight, so I don’t know where it’s coming from, but wow!  I can only imagine how I’m going to look two months from now.  I’ve been nesting like crazy also.  Just this week I rearranged our bedroom, the front porch, and started figuring out how to incorporate a space for the little lady in the nursery.  I even set up the Pack N Play beside our bed.

Want to know what’s up with baby this week? Here’s what Babycenter has to say:

See the bigger picture.

How your baby’s growing:

By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She’s also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.

Symptoms: Still having major heartburn, but now it comes in the middle of the night.  I’ve got a big bottle of tums beside my bed.  I’m tired all the time.  Not tired like a little sleepy in the afternoon, but fatigued.  I can’t make it through the day without at least one nap.

Weight gain: 3 pounds since my last update, so I’ve gained 17 pounds total.  I’m still lighter than I was with Little J at this point.

Cravings: Nope.  I’m actually having tons of food aversions.  I’m hungry all the time, but everything I end up eating isn’t even appetizing.

Best thing this week:  Realizing that I’ll be full term in less than 10 weeks!  I’m in the home stretch!
